AHEPA Updates

***UPDATE 4/15/05***

After over five months of getting nowhere with help to the answer of the update of 11/11/04 with the members of AHEPA that I know, I emailed some of the high members of AHEPA for help to answer update of 11/11/04. I also asked if AHEPA had any interest in helping with us Greek Orphans find their birth families. I even emailed AHEPA my mobile number.

Here is the response I received:

  • Franklin R. Manios, RPh Supreme President of AHEPA
    (No Response)
  • Gus J. James, II Supreme Vice-President of AHEPA
    (No Response)
  • Anthony Drakos Supreme Governor of AHEPA
    (No Response)
  • Andrew Kaffes of AHEPA
  • Director of Public Relations
    (No Response)
  • Basil Mossaidis Executive Director of AHEPA
    Only one with a response:
On 4/12/05 said he would forward my information to the Supreme President and the leadership of the AHEPA.
  • I also asked for the email addresses of four of the AHEPA's "District Warden" if that information was not private information with AHEPA.
    (No Response)

According to AHEPA’s bylaws in Article 12 Section G (2) it says about protecting and safeguarding their archives for their District. You can find Article 12 at their web site at www.ahepa.org to read exactly word for word what it says. If all of the District Wardens is to protect their archives then any adoption that AHEPA assisted in, they should still have it in their archives. If AHEPA assisted in your adoption take a chance and contact AHEPA (or I will help you) to see if they may have information on your adoption, or birth family. Remember not only do we have a need to find our birth families we need to know for many reasons like: Health issues in our life. Health issues that could be passed on to our children. Nephews, and nieces, sons, and daughters have taken an interest in finding their roots which comes from their fathers, mothers, aunts, or uncles now too.

These are just a few reasons we need to know, there are many more. Maybe if us Greek orphans band together with a good gentle heart throughout the world we can get a response from AHEPA, and just maybe they will finally open their archives somehow to help us.

Remember I say "One standing does more than a thousand sitting" so I urge you to stand.

On their web site AHEPA states:

"The mission of the AHEPA Family is to promote Hellenism, Education, Philanthropy, Civic Responsibility, and Family and Individual Excellence." Philanthropy they say ...is rooted in the Hellenic ideal of "love of people"

Keep contacting me with more request of information that you would like me to talk about as much as I can.

Very soon I will have update about:

  • Stephen S. Scopas former Supreme President of AHEPA 1956 former NY City Magistrate.
  • Leo J. Lamberson (PSP) Chairman A.R.R.C. of AHEPA 1956 of Indiana.
  • Jacob Cohen in 1956
  • Rebecca Issacher in 1956
  • Member: American Committee for Special Migration Overseas Operations of AHEPA. Michael Tsaparis, Manager and Greek Attorney in Greece

If you have any documents or information on these individuals email me on our contact page.

*** UPDATE 4/12/05 ***

Coming in a couple of days answer to update 11/11/04

*** UPDATE 11/11/04 ***

I have received many requests if I would explain what AHEPA is about then, and now. As I said I am not an Ahepan., but I have learned much about the AHEPA organization with accurate information since a teenager, and still learning more every day. Remember we want to keep this page positive, and accurate.

I will first try to contact some Ahepans I know and ask if the Supreme President of AHEPA will contact me at his convenience, or his authorized officer to ask for a mission statement that would be accurate that we may use, and post on this page with their permission that may explain this.

Thank you all for your interest

If anyone knows any information on this man that helped transport Greek children in 1956 that were adopted, please contact G.O.B.C. Any information could help orphans find their birth families.
