LAMB KAPAMA

2 lbs. lamb cubed
2 garlic cloves minced
about 4 tablespoons. olive oil
2 med. onions thinly sliced
1 green pepper thinly sliced
2(15oz.) canned stewed tomatoes
1 (15oz.) canned tomato sauce
1 cup water
1 teaspoon cinnamon
½ teaspoon nutmeg
Salt & pepper to taste
2 Tbsp. lemon juice


Sprinkle meat with salt and pepper and spices. Pour lemon juice over meat and let stand for 45 minutes.

Sauté onions, green pepper and meat in olive oil for 5 minutes. Then add the stewed tomatoes and tomato sauce along with one cup of water and cook for 10 minutes on medium heat. Pour all ingredients into a stewing pot, cover, and simmer for 2 1/2 hours until meat is tender.

Dish can be served over any pasta, rice or even mashed potatoes.
